Abbeville—Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, 3:00 p.m., at Vincent Funeral Home –Abbeville honoring the life of Joseph Allen Peltier, 76, who died Sunday, January 2, 2011 at his residence. Deacon David Vaughn will be officiating the services.
Allen was born in Youngsville, LA in 1934. He served in the U.S. Army for two years and worked in the oilfield until his retirement in 1998. He was a master gardner and loved watching LSU sports. His greatest passion was his love of golf and he played as often as he could. He was known as "Pappy" to his grandchildren and "Poppy" at the golf course.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Deanna Baudoin Peltier of Abbeville; three sons, Allen Shane Peltier of Scott, Joel Lance Peltier and his wife, Sherry of Austin, TX and Toby Ward Peltier of Charlotte, NC; two daughters, Mary Andree' Peltier of Youngsville, Patrice Ann Miller and her husband, James Martin of Maurice; seven grandchildren, Brandi Peltier, James Miller, II, Matthew Miller, Joshua Peltier, Jakob Peltier, Justin Peltier and Patrick Miller; four step grandchildren, Melissa, Tyson, Jenny and Chad; two great grandchildren, Tristan and Aniya.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edias Peltier and the former Lou Anna Gary; and sister, Nettie Ann Breaux.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. until time of services
