Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 8, 2011 at an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Rowena McDonald Duhon, 93, who died Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. She will be laid to rest at St. Alphonsus Cemetery with Reverend Joseph Breaux officiating the services.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Lee Duhon, Harold Duhon, Joe Hebert and Donald Duhon. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard LeBouef and Billy McDonald.
Mrs. Rowena was a member of the Ladies Altar Society at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Nita D. and her husband, Calvin LeBouef of Kaplan; one grandson, Richard LeBouef and his wife, Courtney Reaux; and two great grandsons, Gaylen James and Jade Michael LeBouef.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edlar Duhon; and her parents, Sidney McDonald and the former Marie Anita Boudreaux.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Friday, January 7, 2011 from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Saturday, January 08, from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
