Mildred Hebert Trahan

August 2, 1929 — January 9, 2011

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Mildred Hebert Trahan, 81, who died Sunday, January 9, 2011.

She will be laid to rest at St. Alphonsus Cemetery with Reverend Joseph Breaux officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Rodney Trahan, Terry Trahan, Eric Trahan, David Trahan, Clayton Dardar, Jeremy Trahan and Adam Trahan. Honorary pallbearers will be Nicholas Trahan, Jordan Trahan and Grant Dardar.

Mildred will always be remembered for her strong faith, compassion for others, and the love she showed to all. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and caregiver. She always saw the good in everyone and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her four sons, Rodney J. Trahan of Maurice, Terry P. Trahan and his wife, Donna of Maurice, Eric M. Trahan and his wife, Sondra of Abbeville and David Trahan; one daughter, Susan Dardar and her husband, Clayton; grandchildren, Amanda T. Doyle, Adam Trahan, Emily T. Simon, Meagan T. Zumbek, Nicholas Trahan, Jordan Trahan, Monique T. Barras, Jeremy Trahan, Alexandra Dardar, Hannah Dardar and Grant Dardar; seven great grandchildren, Brendan Doyle, Colin Doyle, Kate Simon, Emmitt Simon, Ava Barras, Chloe Barras and Aly Zumbek; three brothers, Albert Hebert of Lafayette, Nolton Hebert of New Iberia and Lawrence Hebert of Maurice; and one sister, Emedia H. Vincent of Abbeville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Trahan; parents, Jeneus Hebert and the former Editha Broussard; two brothers, Nole Hebert and Edlar Hebert; and sister, Regina H.Girouard.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Wednesday, January 12, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church with a rosary to be prayed at 9:00 a.m.
