Joseph Gabriel “B.L.” Luquette

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at a 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Joseph Gabriel “B.L.” Luquette, 91, who died Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Heart Hospital of Lafayette.

He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Deacon Randy Hyde officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Neal Broussard, Corey Broussard, Kern Broussard, Blake Broussard, Jake Luquette and Jubal Marceaux. Honorary pallbearer will be Noah Broussard.

He is survived by his son, Robert B. Luquette and wife Carlene of Kaplan; daughter, Dolores Broussard and husband Kenneth of Meaux; seven grandchildren, Neal Broussard, Alison Marceaux, Corey Broussard, Kern Broussard, Blake Broussard, Kayla Luquette and Jake Luquette; and seven great grandchildren, McKenzie Marceaux, Christa Broussard, Lindsay Marceaux, Hannah Broussard, Noah Broussard, Rynn Marceaux and Krysten Luquette; and a sister, Nolia LeBouef of Abbeville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Vincent Luquette; father, Ulyssee Luquette; mother, Maria Sherman Luquette; brothers, Sevengier Luquette, Danaville Luquette, Edgar Luquette, Nelson Luquette; and a sister, Esperie LeBouef.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Monday, January 17, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed 7:00 p.m., the family will reopen on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
