Larue "Granny" Bourque

February 24, 1936 — January 21, 2011

Kaplan—Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of LaRue “Granny” Bourque, 74, who died Friday, January 21, 2011 at her residence. Reverend David Broussard will be officiating the services.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Loston J. Bourque Sr. of Kaplan; one daughter, LaNell B. and her husband, Richard Melancon of Abbeville; one son, Loston J. Bourque Jr. of Lafayette; one sister, Ray Berg of Munising, Michigan; and three granddaughters, Sandi Mire and her husband, Ryan Hernandez, Kristy Lynn Mire and Tara Marie Mire and her fiancé, Robert Greer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Woodie Thompson Strickland and the former Nellie Juanita Ray; one brother, Woodie T. Strickland; and two daughters, Laura Michelle Bourque and Lisa Gay Bourque.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 from 10 a.m. until sevices with a rosary being prayed at 11 a.m.
