Russ Johnson

June 19, 1959 — January 22, 2011

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Russ Johnson, 51, who died Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend David Broussard officiating the services.

He is survived by three sons, Kaven Johnson of Lafayette, Kyle and Jalen Johnson both of Kaplan; his mother, Mary Johnson of Kaplan; one brother Darrin Johnson and his wife Toni of Kaplan; one granddaughter, Kamryn Johnson of Duncan, Oklahoma; two nephews Justin and Pete Johnson and one niece, Brittany Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his father, William "Bill" Johnson, maternal grandparents, Whitney Pete Johnson and the former Leah LeBlanc, paternal grandparents, S.R. Johnson and the former Mary Tatum and an infant brother, Carl Johnson.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Monday, January 24, 2011 from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Tuesday, January 25, from 8:30 a.m. until 9:45 when the procession will depart for the church.
