Wilfred Joseph Babineaux

He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Deacon Randy Hyde officiating the services.
Wilfred J. Babineaux served in the U.S Army during the European campaign for 3 Years.
He married Anna Rachel Hebert in 1942. Mr. and Mrs. Babineaux had 3 sons.
He worked for D & A Construction doing most of his contract work with Phillips Petroleum. Mr. Babineaux started his own contracting company in 1970 known as “Babineaux and Sons.
Mr. Wilfred loved the marsh where he built 2 camps on the Boston Canal. He became affectionately known as the Mayor of Boston. He loved his family and always did his to all that was required or needed. He was always was willing to help anyone that was in need and would share anything of his to help someone.
Survivors are his wife of 68 years, Anna Rachel Hebert Babineaux three sons and their wives, Ruassell Wayne Babineaux and his wife Rosemary Hebert, Sammy David Babineaux and his wife, Brandy Wiggins and Tommy Carl Babineaux and his wife, Juanita Demarcy. Two sisters, Rita Hebert and Beulah Strain. Five grand children and six great grand children.
The family gives thanks to the Doctors and Nurses of Maison du Monde Nursing Home and Hospice of Acadiana for all the help and aid given during Wilfred’s stay at the nursing home. Thanks also to Vincent Funeral Home for their care and service.
Wilfred will be missed by his family and friends, who wish him God’s blessing and that he Rest in Peace.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Saturday, January 29, 2011, from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., Sunday, January 30, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; and Monday, January, 31, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
