Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Monday, January 31, 2011 at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Marilyn Trahan Simon, 75, who died Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Heart Hospital of Lafayette. She will be laid to rest at Hebert Cemetery with Reverend David Broussard officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Derek S. Hebert, Jesse Simon, Kelly Marceaux, Clint Hebert and Scotty Touchet.
She is survived by one son, Ricky J. Simon of Kaplan; two daughters, Cheryl S. Duhon and her husband, Robert Steve Duhon of Leroy and Christina S. Marceaux of Kaplan; five grandchildren, Derek S. Hebert and his wife, Megan of Kountze, TX, Jesse Simon and his wife, Keri of Maurice, Angel S. Marceaux and her fiancé, Scotty Touchet of Abbeville, Kelly Marceaux of Kaplan and Shauna Simon of Kaplan; and three great grandchildren, Lily Rose Touchet, Drake Touchet and Hannah Marie Simon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L.J. Simon; her parents, Asan and Lorita Trahan; one brother, Lloyd Trahan; two sisters, Ouida T. Sonnier and Hilda Trahan; and her nephew, Paul Gerald Hebert.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Sunday, January 30, 2011 from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 6:30 p.m.; Monday, January 31, from 8 a.m. until services.
