Lydia Monceaux

April 25, 1929 — January 30, 2011

Gueydan—Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, January 31, 2011 at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan honoring the life of Lydia Monceaux, 81, who died Sunday, January 30, 2011 at the Gueydan Memorial Guest Home. She will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Troy Duhon officiating the services.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Fred Monceaux Jr. of Gueydan; her son, Roger Monceaux and his wife, Linda of Gueydan; two daughters, Elaine Monceaux of Jennings and Ruth Boykin of Jonesboro, Georgia; two sisters, Mary Lou Guidry and Laura Mae Breaux, both of Crowley; three brothers, Johnny Gaspard of Estherwood, Reverend Albert Lee Gaspard of Cooksville, Tennessee and Howard Ray Gaspard of Vinton; 11 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Ray Allen Monceaux; her parents, Azile and Eve Gaspard; her sister, Virgie Plaisance; and her great grandson, Kaden Hunter Pousson.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth Street, on Monday, January 31, 2011 from 8 a.m. until services.
