Percy Schexnider

August 1, 1931 — January 31, 2011

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Percy Schexnider, 79, who died Monday, January 31, 2011 at Abbeville General Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Suire Cemetery with Reverend Keith Landry officiating the services.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Betty Landry Schexnider of Forked Island; two daughters, Gloria and her husband, George LeBouef of Abbeville and Sheila and her husband, T-Boy Authement of Sulphur; three stepdaughters, Elizabeth Pontiff and her fiancé, Neal McCann of Erath, Linda and her husband, Alfred Broussard of Pecan Island and Sandy and her husband, Ervin Abshire of Forked Island; two stepsons, Bruce Hodge and his wife, Lillian of Gonzales and Jerome Hodge of Forked Island; one sister, Evelyn Gaspard of Abbeville; two brothers, Murphy and Wilson Schexnider, both of Kaplan; nineteen grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clemile and Amelia Schexnider; two infant sons, Larry and Joseph Schexnider; one infant stepdaughter, Margret Ann Hodge; one stepson, Curtis Hodge; one son-in-law, Calvin Touchet; two sisters, Dorothy LeBlanc and Eula Mae Marceaux; and one brother, Lennis Schexnider Sr.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 p.m.; Wednesday, February 2, 2011 from 8 a.m. until services.
