Elton L. Vincent

January 11, 1938 — April 10, 2007

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 12, 2007 at a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Elton L. Vincent, 69, who died April 10, 2007 at his residence.
He will be laid to rest in Indian Bayou Methodist Cemetery with Father Kevin Bordelon and con-celebrant Deacon Chris Mouton officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Jared Vincent Istre, Erik Michael Istre, Ross Vincent, Dannie Vincent, Gary White and Brent Vincent.
Elton worked in the petroleum industry for most of his life. He was a retired superintendent with EI Paso Oil and Gas.
He is survived by his wife, Della Clostio Vincent of Abbeville; one son, Ken A. Vincent and his wife Cynthia D. of Suwanee, Georgia; one daughter, Kathryn A. Vincent of Abbeville; three grandsons, Jared Vincent Istre of Abbeville, Erik Michael Istre of Abbeville and William Preston Vincent of Suwanee, Georgia; and four brothers, Ross Vincent and his wife Judy of Many, La., Bud Vincent and his wife of Germany, Dannie Vincent and his wife Lynn of Deridder, La. and Lonnie Vincent and his wife Pam of Pearland, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston Reed Vincent and the former Irma Inez Koch; stepmother, Vida Lee Hoffpauir Vincent; and one brother, Ken Murray Vincent.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home, 209 South St. Charles, Abbeville, Wednesday, April 11th from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Thursday, April 12th from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
