A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary Magdalen Church Thursday, April 19, 2007, at a 3:30 pm mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Marcelle Marie Broussard Mouton, 72, who died on April 13, 2007. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home, 209 South St. Charles, Abbeville, Wednesday, April 18th from 8:00 am until 10:00 pm with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue Thursday, April 19th from 8:00 am until time of services. Marcelle Mouton was born in St. Martinville, LA, on March 30, 1935. She married Arnold Joseph Mouton in August 1952, and became a Marine Corps wife until he retired in 1969. After his retirement, Marcelle remained a homemaker and mother of five children in Abbeville, LA. Marcelle is preceeded in death by her husband, Arnold Joseph Mouton; her father, Robert Joseph Broussard, Sr.; her brother Robert Joseph Broussard, Jr.; and her mother, Edith Brasseaux. She is survived by her sister Jo Ann Early from Krum, TX; her eldest daughter, Deborah M. Meaux of Kaplan, her eldest son, Avery Joseph Mouton and his wife Theresa Mouton of Youngsville, LA; her daughter Linda Jones and her husband Patrick Jones of Abbeville; her daughter Denese Thompson and her husband, Jim Thompson of Abbeville; and her youngest son: Robert Mouton of Abbeville and his fiancée, Kelly Atkins of Witchita Falls, TX. Marcelle is grandmother of fourteen grandchildren and great-grandmother to nine great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Acadiana.
