She will be laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Rufus J. Palombo of Abbeville; one son, Darrell James Palombo and his wife, Joan Hamilton of Nashville, TN; one daughter, Linda Marie Palombo of Abbeville; grandchildren, Douglas Michael Palombo, Benjamin John Palombo and David Andrew Palombo all of Lafayette; great grandchildren, Audrey Adaire Palombo and Adelle Margaret Palombo both of Lafayette; son-in-law, Shane Gerard Louviere of Lafayette; and the mother of Darrell's children, Ann D'Aquin Palombo of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Mayo Durke and the former Ida Mae Fletcher; daughter, Katherine Ann Palombo; brother, John Clement Durke; and sister, Virgie Durke LeBlanc.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Friday, February 18, 2011 from noon until 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, February 19, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
