Gueydan—Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2011 at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Eula "Tut" Vincent Suire, 90, who died Friday, March 4, 2011 at Heart Hospital of Lafayette. She will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Jason Vidrine officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Burt Suire, Mark Suire, Jason Suire, Jacob Mathiew, Ben Suire, Jeff Suire and Alex Miller.
Eula was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all.
She was a Eucharistic minister for St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, a member of the Ladies Altar Society, a volunteer at the Gueydan Memorial Guest Home for twenty years and a participant in the senior olympics. She led the prayer of the rosary every night at the nursing home and also led it in French at the funeral home when requested. She loved gardening, bingo and traveling to the casino.
She is survived by two sons, Hubert Suire and his wife, Belle of Gueydan, Lloyd Suire and his wife, Peggy of Gueydan; two daughters, Linda Suire and her husband, David Mathiew of Nunez, Margaret Suire and her husband, Jerry Miller of Kaplan; one sister, Ita Vincent Bourque of Lake Arthur; eleven grandchildren; and twenty great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Suire Sr.; one son, Henry Suire Jr.; one grandson, Kevin Suire; her parents, Theo Vincent and the former Elia David; one brother; and two sisters.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth Street, on Friday, March 4, 2011 from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Saturday, March 5, from 8 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. when the procession will depat for the church.
