Paul Cleveland Hargrave, Sr.

June 6, 1936 — March 7, 2011

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Paul Cleveland Hargrave, Sr., 74, who died Monday, March 7, 2011 at Lafayette General Medical Center.

He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Bobby Jean Carter officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Paul Darren Hargrave, Paul Cleveland Hargrave, Jr., Lainewood Hargrave, Blake Hargrave, John Hargrave and Josh Theall. Honorary pallbearers will be James Gilliam and Frederick Citizen.

Mr. Hargrave loved gardening, cooking and enjoying the outdoors. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Laura Vincent Hargrave of Abbeville; three children, Paul Darren Hargrave and his wife, Margie, Sabrina and her husband, Lainewood Hargrave and Paul Cleveland Hargrave Jr.; one brother, Clifton Hargrave and his wife, Ann; three sisters, Ethel and her husband, Rene Dubois, Darlene and her husband, Francis LaPoint and Jenelle Folse; five grandchildren, Jamaica Gilliam, John Hargrave, Desiray Hargrave Citizen, Blake Hargrave and Blair Hargrave; and two great grandchildren, Kodi Hargrave and A-Layah Theall.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Isadore Hargrave and the former Lucille Henri.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Wednesday, March 9, from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m.; Thursday, March 10, from 9 a.m. until the services.
