Sable Rose Landry Broussard

August 30, 1926 — March 15, 2011

Kaplan— Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 17, 2011 at a 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Sable Rose Landry Broussard, 84, who died Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Abbeville General Hospital. She will be laid to rest at Leroy Cemetery with Reverend David Broussard officiating the services.

Sable and her husband “Bruce” were lifelong members of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church in Kaplan, and supporters of the October Fete and Maltrait Memorial Catholic School. She cooked many meals for the bereavement society and was a member of the Holy Rosary Ladies Altar Society. The family would like to thank the staff at East Ridge Nursing Center.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Dudley "Bruce" Broussard of Kaplan; two sons, Reynold Broussard of Kenner and Joseph Edward "Eddie" Broussard of Abbeville; two daughters, Rose Anna Trahan and husband, Michael of Abbeville and Mary Broussard of Abbeville; daughter-in-law, Lisa Ledet Broussard of Abbeville; two granddaughters, Amanda Trahan Vienne and Clare Broussard, both of Abbeville; and two great granddaughters, Parrish and Ellis Vienne, both of Abbeville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alphonse and Estelle Bourque Landry; son, Neal Broussard; daughter-in-law, Annick Meaux Broussard; and sisters, Ena LeBlanc, Hilda LeBlanc, Leona Leger, Diana Rost and Annie Mae Landry.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Thursday, March 17, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. until the procession departs for the 1 p.m. church service. A rosary will prayed at 11:00 a.m.
