Elrod "Pete" Petry

Funeral
services will be held
Wednesday, May 02, 2007 at a
3:00 p.m. Mass of Christian
Burial in St. James Church
honoring the life of Elrod "Pete"
Petry, 82, who died April 30,
2007 at Lafayette General
Hospital.
He will be laid to rest at St.
James Cemetery with Father
Mathew Mullamangalam
officiating the services.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Petry,
Ronald Menard, Chris Foreman,
John Petry Jr., Adam Petry, and
Chuck Broussard,. Honorary
pallbearers will be Carl Petry,
Henry "Bubby" Petry, Jared
Petry, Matt Desormeaux, Brady
Foreman and Shane Foreman.
Pete was retired from the
Corp of Engineers as a lockman
with over thirty years of service.
He was a member of the U.S.
Coast Guard "Swamp Angels"
and member of the American
Legion Post #29.
He is survived by his wife of
58 years, Elta Mae Monteaux
Petry of Theall; two sons, Henry
Adam "Bubby" Petry and his
wife Susan L. Beauxis and John
Allen "Johnny" Petry, Sr. and his
wife Marsha Maria Detraz all of
Abbeville; two daughters, Glenda
Rae Petry and her husband
Ronald James Menard of Kaplan
and Dollie Eve Petry Foreman
and her husband Christopher of
Abbeville; one brother, Carl
James Petry of Theall; six
grandchildren; six great
grandchildren; two step
grandchildren; and four step
great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by
his parents, Henry Adam Petry,
Sr. and the former Odalie
Cessac.

The family requests that
visiting hours be observed at
Vincent Funeral Home, 209
South St. Charles, Abbeville,
Tuesday, May 1st from 9:00 a.m.
until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to
be prayed at 7:00 p.m.;
Wednesday, May 2nd from 8:00
a.m. until time of services.
