Elda John Vaughan

July 4, 1935 — March 26, 2011

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Elda John Vaughan, 75, who died Saturday, March 26, 2011 at his residence.

He will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery with Father Scott DesOrmeaux officiating the services.


He is survived by his three children, Lisa Vaughan Bobo and husband Raymond of Maurice, Gina Vaughan of Erath, and Natasha Vaughan LeBlanc and husband Shane of Erath; six grandchildren, Melissa Bobo of Maurice, Megan Bobo Lattero and husband Christian of Hawaii, Brett Vaughan of Erath, Lauren LeBlanc of Erath, Alyssa LeBlanc of Erath and Luke LeBlanc of Erath; two great grandchildren, Hailey Lattero and Zayda Vaughan; two sisters, Viva Humble and Isabell Vaughan; and a brother, Wilbert Vaughan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Emma Miller Vaughan; two sons, Bart and Brett Vaughan; and a grandson, Matthew Primeaux.

Mr. Vaughan was a member of the VFW post #4158 and various other military organizations. He was a very generous man who often donated to many charities, his favorite being St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. He was a collector and enjoyed collecting guns, coins and antiques.


The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Monday, March 28, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. The family will reopen on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
