Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Thomas James Benoit, 78, who died Monday, March 28, 2011 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend David Broussard officiating the services.
Thomas was a United States Army veteran who served our country during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by Acadiana Ford for several years. He was a member of the American Legion Arthur A. LeJeune Jr. and Noel J. Boudreaux Post #271. He was a loving "Paw-Paw" who was great with his grandchildren.
He is survived by one daughter, Thomasina LeBlanc and her husband, Chad of Haughton; one son, Steven Benoit of Kaplan; one brother, Joseph Benoit of Arlington, Texas; one sister, Eva B. Champagne of Kaplan; and three grandchildren, B.J. Benoit of Alexandria, and Beau and Haylie Lynn LeBlanc, both of Haughton.
He was preceded in death by one son, Beinke "Pie" Benoit; his parents, Saul and Eunice L. Benoit; and one brother, John "Rue Rue" Benoit.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 from 9 a.m. until services. A rosary will be prayed at 11 a.m.
