Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 31, 2011 at a 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Janette Mouton Trahan, 91, who died Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Abbeville General Hospital.
She will be laid to rest at Hebert Cemetery with Reverend William C. Blanda officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Trahan, David Trahan, Damon Trahan, Koby Trahan, Corey Trahan and Russell Mouton.
Mrs. Jane was a retired school teacher having taught 39 years.
She is survived by two sons, Jabian "Jay" Trahan and his wife, Becky of Houston and W. Paul "Bubba" Trahan and his wife, Linda of Lafayette; five grandchildren, Kevin Trahan of Houston, David Trahan of Houston, Damon Trahan of Houston, Koby Trahan of Broussard and Brittany Trahan of Los Angeles, CA; seven great grandchildren, Laken Trahan of Houston, Corey Trahan of Houston, Kaylee Trahan of Houston, Adam Trahan of Houston, Catherine Trahan of Houston, Evan Trahan of Broussard and Tagg Trahan of Broussard; brother, Willard Mouton of Perry; and sister Earline Cibulski.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.P. "Bill" Trahan; parents, Alphonse Mouton and the former Nita LeMaire; an infant son, James Trahan; great granddaughter, Lauren Ashley Trahan; and two brothers, Al "Bee" Mouton and Milton Mouton.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Thursday, March 31, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her sitters, Verian Bertrand, Jenny Touchet, Juanita LeBlanc, Carmen Mouton, Liz Robichaux and Vicky Benson for their loving care and attention shown towards their mother.
