Irene Audrey Sellers Bertrand

She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Rev. Gary Schexnaider officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Michael J. Bertrand, II, Brian J. Bertrand, Christopher Bertrand, Shea Bertrand, Gage Bertrand, David Bertrand, II, Christopher Baudoin, Joshua Baudoin and Nicholas Baudoin. Music selection will be sung by Gregory Dubois and Johnny Luquette.
She is survived by three sons, Michael Bertrand and his wife, Annette of Abbeville; Philip Bertrand and his wife, Kayla of Crowley; and David Bertrand and his wife, Deborah of Abbeville; brother, Eugene M. Sellers and his wife, Phallie; two sisters, Elaine S. Luquette and Charlene S. Bernard and her husband, Lewis; fifteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and two great grandchildren currently in the oven and due in May and August.
She was preceded in death by husband, Sidney Bertrand; granddaughter, Anne-Marie Bertrand; mother, Nathalia H. Sellers and father, John Sellers.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 from 3:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Thursday, April 14, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
The family wishes to thank Doctor John Mickey and David Foreman, and the 9th Floor Nurses and Aides at Lafayette General Hospital for the special care they provided along with Hospice of Acadiana and her caretakers, Judy Johnson and Laure Richert.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to the Anne-Marie Bertrand Memorial Scholarship Fund, Mt. Carmel Elementary or Hospice of Acadiana.
