Gueydan—Funeral services will be held Thursday April 21, 2011 at a 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Katherine Fruge Benoit, 52, who died Sunday, April 17, 2011 at her residence. She will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Jason Vidrine officiating the services.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph C. Benoit Jr. of Gueydan; one son, Joseph C. Benoit III and his wife Brittany R. of Gueydan; one daughter, Amy M. Benoit of Meaux; three sisters, Margaret Kibodeaux of Lafayette, Anna Guidry of Lafayette and Elizabeth Derouen of New Iberia; three brothers, Lawless Fruge Jr. of Kaplan, Robert Fruge of Gueydan and Raymond Fruge of Eunice; and ten grandchildren, Wynter Dawn Hanks, Jaron Gace Hanks, Joellei Anna Benoit, Korin Paul Dubois, Zaysea Jnae Dubois, Bailey Jace Dubois, Jaylen Lane Dubois, Jermaih Austin Benoit, Charles Ayo Benoit and Gabe Benoit.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawless Fruge and the former Katherine Rizzto.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth Street, on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Thursday, April 21, from 8 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
