Felix Manson Cabrol

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Monday, May 2, 2011 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Felix Manson Cabrol, 76, who died Friday, April 29, 2011 at Abbeville General Hospital.

He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Father Scott DesOrmeaux officiating the services. Pallbearers will be, Kevin Cabrol, Buddy Cabrol, Chuck Cabrol, Mitchell Cabrol, Brant Cabrol and Clint Faulk. Honorary pallbearers will be Chase Cabrol and Ted Villien.

As a young man, Mr. Cabrol began his work experience as a baker at Evangeline Maid Bakery. He then became a mechanic for Langlinais Ford Tractor Company. His career as an air conditioning technician began at Aristile LeBlanc and Son. He eventually went on to own Manson Cabrol A/C and Electric.

Manson had many hobbies. He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, and listening to cajun french music. He also truly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and relaxing at his camp in Pecan Island.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Bernice Racca Cabrol; his sister, Annie Lou Hess; his children, Charlotte Cabrol and partner Amy Johnson of St. Petersburg, Florida, Loretta Cabrol Faulk and husband Clint of Erath, Buddy Cabrol and wife Marilyn of Abbeville, Kevin Cabrol of Houston, TX and Chuck Cabrol and wife Erica of Abbeville; his grandchildren, Katie Cabrol Villien and husband Ted, Mitchell Cabrol, Brant Cabrol, Jennah Cabrol, Kalie Mullins, Payton Faulk, Kristin Cabrol and Chase Cabrol. He was anxiously awaiting the birth of his first great grandchild, Thomas Carl Villien.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Celeste LeBlanc Cabrol; his father, Pierre Cabrol; his sister, Helen Cabrol Touchet; his son, Wayne Cabrol and his grandson, Austin Wayne Mullins.

The family would like to offer a sincere thank you to Dr. Ronald Lahasky, the doctors and nursing staff of Abbeville General Hospital, Acadian Home Care, and Hospice of Acadiana, especially Dr. LeBouf for the care and compassion that they showed.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Sunday, May 1, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Monday, May 02, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
