KAPLAN—Frances Tiny Kersnick (Molzahn), age 93, passed away peacefully at Kaplan Healthcare Center in Kaplan, Louisiana on Wednesday, May 4, 2011. Born on July 26, 1917, in Chase County, Nebraska, to Frank and Susie Benson, she married Edward John Molzahn on July 19, 1934. They farmed in the Chase County area of Nebraska until they moved to Colorado in 1945. Her husband "Ed" passed away on April 18, 1963, in Arvada, Colorado. On January 1, 1970, she married George T. Kersnick and they resided in Aurora, Colorado. After retirement they moved to Grand Junction, Colorado. They loved to travel and visited almost every state in their beloved RV and ended up residing in Parker, Arizona. George passed away on March 19, 1993. In 2000, Frances moved back to Grand Junction to be closer to family. She resided there until July 2008, at which time she moved to Kaplan, Louisiana to live with her daughter, Linda and son-in-law, Rick. She loved cooking, crafts, crossword puzzles, and playing Aggravation.
She is survived by son, Jerry (Linda) Molzahn of Grand Junction, Colorado; son, Gerald (Marie) Molzahn of Worland, Wyoming; daughter, Linda (Rick) Exe of Kaplan, Louisiana; daughter, Cheryl (Tim) Heng of Carbondale, Colorado; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Molzahn of Lake Havasu, Arizona; 14 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Edward John Molzahn; husband, George T. Kersnick; and her son, DeWayne Molzahn.
A private family service will be held in Imperial, Nebraska at a later date.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all involved in her care at Kaplan Healthcare Center and by Heart of Hospice. Mom was a grand lady, a loving mother and full of life. We will miss her greatly.
