Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at a 10:00 a.m.. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Bertha Jane Doucet Zaunbrecher, 65, who died May 20, 2007 at Abbeville General Hospital. She will be laid to rest at St. Leo Cemetery in Roberts Cove with Reverend Donald Theriot officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Mark Piazza, Charles Piazza, Chris Piazza, Douglas Zaunbrecher, Dwayne Zaunbrecher, and Martin Zaunbrecher. Bertha was a member of Triad, Vermilion Council on Aging and Vermilion Catholic Booster Club. She is survived by her husband, "Bud" Zaunbrecher of Abbeville; one son, Jack Harrington and his wife Casie of Abbeville; two daughters, Suzanne Piazza and her husband Mark and Jeri Liz Bienvenue all of Abbeville; her father, Ovey Doucet of Rayne; four step children, Dwayne Zaunbrecher and his wife June of Eunice, Douglas Zaunbrecher and his wife Marla of Eunice, Martin Zaunbrecher of Lafayette and Amy Zaunbrecher of Lafayette; one sister, Dorothy Hanley of Port Arthur, Texas; three grandchildren, Charles Piazza, Christopher Piazza, Jackie Bienvenue; and five step grandchildren, Michael Zaunbrecher, Nickolas Zaunbrecher, Kathryn Zaunbrecher, Hans Zaunbrecher and Anya Zaunbrecher. She was preceded in death by her mother, Irene Richard Doucet. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home, 209 South St. Charles, Abbeville, Tuesday, May 22nd from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:30 p.m.; Wednesday, May 23rd from 8:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
