He will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Rev. Jason Vidrine officiating the services.
Hubert was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Who served our country during World War II in the Pacific Front. He was a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his son, Jeffery Stelly and wife Sharron of Lampas, TX; four daughters, Joan Ogden and husband Art of Lake Charles, Karen Roger and husband Robert of Lake Charles and Jeanette Potier and husband Lester of Gueydan, Peggy Sistrunk Ganus of Chico, TX; brother, Wilfred Stelly and wife Martha of Huston, TX; stepchildren, Wendy Broussard and husband Lynn of Abbeville, Allen Dubois and wife Pat of Ocean Springs, MS, Rita Louise Romero and husband Russell of Shrevport and Judy Frederick and husband Leonard of Mire, Geraldine Dubois and companion Gene Richard of Erath; sister-in-law, Elta Stelly of Abbeville; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Mildred Stelly; companion, Rita Dubois; parents, Alexie and Nettie Dubois Stelly; daughter, Mary Magdalen Stelly; brother, Wilmer "Mike" Stelly; stepson, Michael James Dubois; stepgrandson, Jason Romero; and grandson, Andrew Roger.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Thursday, May 19, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.
