Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at a 3 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Norman W. Bourque, 67, who died Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Abbeville General Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Suire Cemetery with Reverend David Broussard officiating the services.
He is survived by two sons, Joey D. Bourque and Norman Bourque, both of Kaplan; three daughters, Amanda Gannard of Butte La Rose, Jessica Bourque of Abbeville, and Tasha Hargrave of Cow Island; three brothers, Gordon Bourque of Pecan Island, Jessie Bourque of Scott, and David Wayne Bourque of Mississippi; six sisters, Helen Stanisky of Dayton, Texas, Patricia Harrington of Missouri, Judy Shipperbottom of Ontario, Canada, Ruby Shaffett of Jarreau, Veronica Touchet of Forked Island, and Catherine Miller of Forked Island; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Bourque; two daughters, Norma E. Bourque and Bonnie L. Bourque; one grandchild, Kasey René Bourque; and his parents, Murphy Joseph Bourque and the former Electa Sturlese.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 from 9 a.m. until 2:45 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
