Orita Henry Duhon

May 26, 1910 — June 4, 2011

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Monday, June 6, 2011 at a 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Orita Duhon, 101, who died Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Maison du Monde Living Center.

She will be laid to rest at St. Alphonsus Cemetery with Reverend Joseph Breaux officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Donald Duhon, David Duhon, Michael Netto, Clyde Romero, Scott Eckholdt and Billy Bunch. Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Duhon, Michael Craig, Kyler Girouard, James Jackson, Leigh Welch and Clyde Romero, Jr.

Mrs. Duhon was a special and loving wife, mother and grandmother, who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her two sons, Donald Duhon and wife, Lynda of Carencro and David Duhon of Erath; grandchildren, Melanie Netto and husband Mike, Rainie Romero and husband Clyde, Deborah Eckhold and husband Scott, Meagan Bunch and husband Billy, Leigh Welch and James Jackson; fifteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and two brothers, Gilbert and wife Semay and Rufus and wife Becky.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lenis and Alice Leger Henry; husband, Opta Duhon; one grandson; five brothers; and four sisters.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Sunday, June 5, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. The funeral home will reopen on Monday, June 6, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
