Wilbert Leon Cole, Sr.

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church honoring the life of Wilbert Leon Cole, Sr., 97, who died Sunday, June 5, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.

He will be laid to rest at Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Rev. Henry Comeaux officiating the services. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons.

He is survived by his sons, Anthony Cole and wife Gwen of Abbeville and Willard Cole and wife Dorita of Erath; daughters, Veronica Thibeaux and husband Von of Kaplan, Ann Dozier and husband Peter of Abbeville and Lois Osborne of Houston; sister, Victoria Hebert of Gueydan; sister-in-law, Agnes Hebert; fifteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Cole; daughters, Mary Cole, Bernadette Cole and Sheridon Levy; brothers, Robert Cole, Leroy Ellard Cole and Richard Cole; and sisters, Adelene Cole and Helen Cole Wright.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Saturday, June 11, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville. Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
