David John Greco

December 11, 1924 — June 23, 2011

Abbeville—Memorial services will be held Monday, June 27, 2011 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of David John Greco, 86, who died Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Mr. Greco retired after a long career in the oil and gas data service, was a veteran of World War II having served in the European Theater. He was an active supporter of Mount Carmel and Vermilion Catholic and past member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Scroggin Greco; six children, Diane Greco Sexauer and her husband Charlie of Oklahoma City, David John Greco, Jr. and his wife Gail of Abbeville, Michael Henry Greco of Abbeville, Lisa Greco Metcalf and her husband Richard of Covington, James Brian Greco and his wife Leslie of Lafayette and Robert Edward Greco and his wife Julie of Abbeville; twelve grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Greco and the former Josphine Russo; and one brother, Francis Greco.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Sunday, June 26, 2011 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 5:00 p.m.
