James "Big Net" Meaux Jr.

April 13, 1942 — June 29, 2011

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Shiloh Baptist Church honoring the life of James Meaux Jr., 69, who died Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at Shiloh Baptist Cemetery with Elder Ernest Williams III officiating the services.

He is survived by three daughters, Bernice Walker of Abbeville, Delores LeBlanc of Lafayette and Tamara Rudd of Kaplan; five sisters, Joyce Meaux, Truley Meaux, Annette Meaux, Shirley Breaux, and Irene "Sis" Rudd, all of Kaplan; two brothers, Loveless Meaux of Kaplan and Albert Meaux of Portland, Oregon; fifteen grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Meaux Sr. and the former Lorena Francis; two brothers, Dalton Francis and Martin Meaux; and one sister, Audrey Meaux.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Shiloh Baptist Church, 607 N. Guidry Avenue, on Friday, July 8, 2011 from 5 p.m. continuing until services on Saturday, July 9, 2011.
