Dorothy Meyers Bernard

August 19, 1921 — June 7, 2007

Funeral services will
be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday,
June 09, 2007 at Vincent Funeral
Home honoring the life of
Dorothy Meyers Bernard, 85,
who died June 07, 2007 at her
residence in Rayne.
She will be laid to rest at St.
James Cemetery with Deacon
Kendal Faulk officiating the
services.
Dorothy would fly to different
cities to play in bridge
tournaments. She was a trophy
bridge player. Later in life she
played with different groups of
friends.
She is survived by her
husband, Woodrow L. Bernard
of Rayne; one son, N. Woodrow
Bernard of Abbeville; two sisters,
Pearly Mae Perry of St.
Martinville and Lula Mae Stutes
of Abbeville; five grandchildren;
two step grandchildren; five great
grandchildren; and two great
step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death
by her parents, Elidier Meyers
and the former Levie Dubois;
one daughter, Karren Janice
Bernard; one son, John Kent
Bernard, Sr. and one brother,
A.C. Meyers.
The family requests that
visiting hours be observed at
Vincent Funeral Home, 209
South St. Charles, Abbeville,
Friday, June 8th from 3:00 p.m.
until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be
prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday,
June 9th from 9:00 a.m. until
time of services.
