Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Ronald "Shaw" Gaspard, 67, who died Monday, July 18, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Deacon David Vaughn officiating the services.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Emily Gaspard of Cow Island; three sons, Ronald Gaspard Jr. and his wife, Erica of Abbeville, Ricky Gaspard and his wife, Darlene of Meaux and Lollis Gaspard and his wife, Crystal of Forked Island; one daughter, Elita Mandy Gaspard of Cow Island and her boyfriend, Nicholas Duhon of Maurice; four sisters, Lorrain Trahan of Kaplan, Jeannette Hargrave of Kaplan, Rosa LeMaire of Cow Island, and Diana Guidry of Cow Island; three brothers, Nelson Gaspard of Port Arthur, Texas, Prentis Gaspard of Cow Island, and Allen Gaspard of Cow Island; and fourteen grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lozan Gaspard and the former Lucille Hargrave; and one sister, Anna Marie Hoffpauir.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 from 3:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m.; Wednesday, July 20, 2011 from 9 a.m. until services.
