Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2007 at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville honoring the life of Jeanne Abshire Schexnider, 79, who died June 14, 2007 at Heritage Manor. She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Jim Brady officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Albert Lloyd Duhon, Jr., Kent Abshire, Richard LeBlanc, Godfred Schexnider, Clint Harrington and Kevin Ardoin. Honorary pallbearers will be Leo Abshire, Adam Abshire, Truman Abshire, Cassie Broussard, Logan Harrington and Sara Harrington. In addition to being a very loving mother, grandmother, and sister, she had a great love for her family. She also loved cooking for her family and friends. She is survived by one daughter, Lavonn S. Harrington and her husband Eugene of Abbeville; three brothers, Leo Abshire and his wife Opal, Adam Abshire, Jr. and his wife Jenny and Truman Abshire and his wife Lona; four sisters, Bernice Duhon, Stella Duhon, Eve Richard and Rosa Mae Roche and her husband Curtis; three grandchildren, Kevin Ardoin, Clint Harrington and his wife Jennifer and Sara Harrington; and three great grandchildren, Cassie Broussard, Logan Harrington and Olivia Harrington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pierre Schexnider; her parents, Adam Abshire and the former Alicia Thibeaux; three brothers, Otto, Alfred and Alex Abshire; one sister, Alice LeBlanc; and one grandson, Eugene Harrington, Jr. Jeanne was a parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home, 209 South St. Charles, Abbeville, Friday, June 15th from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, June 16th from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
