Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Friday, July 29, 2011 at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church honoring the life of Kenard James Lege, 64, who died Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at Leroy Cemetery with Reverend Gregory Simeon officiating the services.
Kenard was a loving husband and father. He taught his sons excellent work ethics. He was an avid sports fan. He had a great sense of humor, always teasing someone. He loved to have a good time. He taught many people how to water ski when he had his boat. He loved to cook outdoors for his family. He adored his grandchildren and treasured having them over.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Charlotte Hebert Lege of Maurice; three sons, Kristopher Lege and his wife, Elizabeth (Ortego) and children, Jackson Hargrouder, Ayden Elise Lege, Addisyn Claire Lege, and Kellan Gabriel Lege, Korey Lege and his wife, Rani (LeGros), and Kasey Lege and his son, Brennan Lege, all of Maurice; his mother, Eldith Lege of Meaux; and three brothers, Garland Lege and wife Patricia of Lafayette and their children, Neal, Todd, David, and Sheree, Al James Lege of Kaplan and his son, Zachery, and Larry Lege and wife, Sandra of Erath and their children, Gordon, Laura, and Shena.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gordy Lege.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Thursday, July 28, 2011 from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Friday, July 29, 2011 from 8 a.m. until the procession departs for the church.
