Melinda Leblanc Landry

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Melinda LeBlanc Landry, 83, who died Monday, August 8, 2011 at her residence. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend David Broussard officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Broussard, Cade Bourque, Austin Landry, Andy Boudreaux, Dustin Landry, Chuck Briolo, Tanner Briolo, and Trevor Dupont. Honorary pallbearers will be Amy Marceaux, Michael Mire, Cole Landry, Pete Mire, and Brett Mire.

Melinda was a devoted wife and mother who cherished her children dearly. She was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, a member of the Ladies Altar Society, and a member of the Neighborhood Weekly Rosary Group. She was deeply devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Rosary. She was also a great cook and her door was always open for anyone who was hungry.

She is survived by three sons, Rickey Landry and wife, Diana of Maryville, Illinois, Curmet Landry and wife, Hope of Kaplan and Neal Landry and wife, Kristina of Kaplan; five daughters, Linda Hollier and husband, Mike of Youngsville, Harriet Landry and companion, Kevin Malik of Lafayette, Madelon Boudreaux and husband, Cloris of Kaplan, Charlotte Briolo and husband, Jorge of Kaplan, and Annette Jackson of Kaplan; one brother, Gaston LeBlanc of Lafayette; 32 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Curmet Landry Sr.; son, Craig Landry; grandson, Andy Caleb Boudreaux; three brothers; and four sisters.

Her family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Randall Faulk, Dr. Corbett LeBouef, Julia, Patty, Vanessa, and all with Hospice of Acadiana, her sitters, Brenda, Leta, Mary Lou, Sis (Irene), Ruby, Veronica, and Bridget for their care and compassion during her time of need.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m.; Wednesday, August 10, 2011 from 10 a.m. until the procession departs for the church.
