Whitney Joseph Leblanc

December 19, 1912 — August 9, 2011

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2011 at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Whitney Joseph LeBlanc, 98, who died Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Abbeville General Hospital.

He will be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Lake Mausoleum with Rev. Lane Payne officiating the services.

He is survived by his son, Lawrence LeBlanc and his wife Joyce of Benton, LA; daughter, Laura Bremer and her husband David of West Columbia, TX; nine grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; and thirteen great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doretha Lange LeBlanc; parents, Leonard LeBlanc and the former Edolia Geoffroy; brothers, Bernard LeBlanc, Rene LeBlanc and Hillaire LeBlanc; and sisters, Etta Vincent and Alfreda LeBlanc.

Whitney and Doretha raised nineteen foster children and has many foster great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to his caregivers for their kindness, compassion and gentle care given to their father at his time of need.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Thursday, August 11, 2011 from noon until 9:00 p.m.; Friday, August 12, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
