Zoie Broussard Leblanc

April 1, 1918 — August 17, 2011

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 20, 2011 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Zoie Broussard LeBlanc, 93, who died Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Eastridge Nursing Center.

She will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Father Scott DesOrmeaux officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Brian Gremillion, Eric LeBlanc, Markham Palombo, Jude Palombo, Brady LeBlanc and Branden LeBlanc. Honorary pallbearers will be David LeBlanc, David Lastrapes, Carl Meche, Scott Mouton and Tom C. LeBlanc.

Zoie was a talented seamstress who enjoyed sewing clothes for all her children and grandchildren. With her sewing talents she sewed five vestments which are now being worn during mass. She also was a wonderful cook who loved cooking for all her family and friends.
She was a lifetime parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church Parish. She attended mass every Saturday at the 4:00 p.m. mass. She was a devout Catholic who faithfully prayed the rosary daily.


She is survived by her two sons, Earl LeBlanc and his wife Sharron of Meaux and Kelly LeBlanc and his wife Betty of Abbeville; daughter, Peggy Palombo and her husband Stafford of Greenwell Springs, LA; son-in-law, Oran Meche; nine grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clovest LeBlanc; parents, Alphe' Broussard and the former Edmaze' Duhon; daughter, Sandra Meche; grandson, Ryan Dubois; brothers, Fernand Broussard, Dudley Broussard, Clesmay Broussard, Evest Broussard, Paul Broussard and Harris Broussard; and sisters, Lillie Hebert, Alix Broussard and Tilda Broussard.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Friday, August 19, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, August 20, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:45 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her sitters, Lashunda, Keisha, Felicia and Lindu for the loving care and attention to their mother. Also they would like to extend special thanks to Heart Hospice and Eastridge Nursing Center for their constant care and concern during her illness.
