Lena S. Gaspard

September 6, 1924 — August 23, 2011

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 25, 2011 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Lena S. Gaspard, 86, who died Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend David Broussard officiating the services.

She is survived by four sons, Johnny Gaspard and his wife, Shirley, Kenneth Gaspard and his wife, Linda, Charles Gaspard and his wife, Pam, and Donald Gaspard and his wife, Jackie, all of Kaplan; four daughters, Joan Gaspard Schexnider of Kaplan, Wanda and her husband, David Patronella of Houston, Texas, Karen and her husband, Mac Koch of Kaplan, and Frances and her husband, Lonnie Hebert of Kaplan; two sisters, Helen and her husband, Curley Dartez of Pasadena, Texas and Sister Therese Schexnider of Lafayette; 18 grandchildren; and 30 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nediese "Cat" Gaspard; both brothers, Leo and Lennis Schexnider; one sister, Rita Marceaux; one great grandson, Chase Gaspard; and her parents, Theodore Schexnider and the former Ella Broussard.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 6:00 p.m.; Thursday, August 25, 2011 from 8 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
