Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 3, 2011 at a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Adra James Manceaux, 66, who died Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
He will be laid to rest at St. Alphonsus Cemetery with Reverend Joseph Breaux officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Dwayne Manceaux, Travis Bodin, Sandy Guidry, Don Dugas, Carl Sexton and Brent Romero. Honorary pallbearer will be Justin Manceaux. Karen Broussard will perform as organist/vocalist for the services.
Sweetheart enjoyed camping with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Gail Bodin Manceaux of Maurice; son, Kevin Manceaux and his wife Tricia of Maurice; grandchildren, Taylor Lynn Manceaux and Justin Michael Manceaux both of Maurice; brother, Minos Manceaux and his wife Dorothy of Abbeville; and sister, Hazel Duhon of Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Manceaux and the former Olite Hebert.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Friday, September 2, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, September 3, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:40 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
