Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Alton John Boutte Sr., 77, who died Monday, September 5, 2011 at Vermilion Health Care Center. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend David Broussard officiating the services.
Alton was a native of Erath and a resident of Kaplan who was a hard working, loving man. He served our country proudly as an electrician for the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital and his own business, Boutte's Electric and Appliance Repair, after 35 years. He was also a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Florine Hargrave Boutte of Kaplan; four sons, Randall Boutte and wife, Charolette of Mire, Bradley Boutte and wife, Brenda of Kaplan, Alton "Johnny" Boutte Jr. and companion, Larry Fogleman of Lafayette, and Corey Boutte and wife, Jill of Meaux; one daughter, Carlene Boutte Luquette and husband, Bryan Luquette of Kaplan; two sisters, Earline Boutte and Alva Jane Brice, both of Kaplan; twelve grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren, with two expected soon.
He was preceded in death by his father, Loto Boutte; his mother, Anna Mae Romero; both brothers, Dalton and Jimmy Boutte; and granddaughter, Emma Boutte.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m.; Wednesday, September 7, 2011 from 10 a.m. until services.
