Laura Belle Chauvin Guidry

November 29, 1932 — September 5, 2011

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 8, 2011 at a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Erath honoring the life of Laura Belle Chauvin Guidry, 78, who died Monday, September 5, 2011 at her residence.

She will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery with Father Bill Melancon officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Taylor Carlin, Brian Carlin, Joe Bertrand, Chris Bertrand, Nick Guidry and Jason Chauvin.

"Life is beautiful" were the words she spoke and believed in until the very end.
Laura Belle Guidry was a loving wife, mother, a great sister and friend. She enjoyed her family, surrounded herself with close friends during a courageous 8 1/2 year battle. Laura Belle inspired everyone with gifts of love and had incredible inner strength. She will be deeply missed by her children and loved ones. Thank you Lord for setting mom free…Amen.

She is survived by her son, Howard Brent Guidry and wife Cheryl; daughters, Sheryl G. MacMenami and husband Doug, Jeanine Guidry, Darlene Suire and husband Sam and Karen Smith and husband Ben; brothers, Vergis Chauvin, Karl Chauvin and wife Sable and Junius Chauvin and wife Wilma; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Guidry; father, Eddie Chauvin; mother, Eve Aimee Scott Chauvin; brother, E.J. Chauvin and a grandson, B.J. Guidry.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Thursday, September 8, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.
