Willis Joseph Duhon

June 19, 1923 — September 9, 2011

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Monday, September 12, 2011 at a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Delcambre honoring the life of Willis Joseph Duhon, 88, who died Friday, September 9, 2011 at Iberia Medical Center.

He will be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery with Fr. Herb Bennerfield officiating the services.

He is survived by his sons, Loles J. Duhon of New Iberia, Elery J. Duhon of New Iberia, Larry P. Duhon of Charlotte, NC, and David M. Duhon of New Iberia; daughters, Delores Ann Duplantis of New Iberia and Agnes Faye Clark of Lake Charles; brother, Raymond Duhon of Erath; sisters, Zula Laviolette of Erath, and Velma Jean Hebert of Erath; twenty two grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Simon Duhon; father, Alcide Duhon; mother, Ida Vincent Duhon; son, Floyd John Duhon; brothers, Dalton, Andrus, Wilbert, and Ivy Duhon; and sisters, Elva Jean Duhon, Annie Mae Harrington, and Grace Duhon.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Sunday, September 11, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Monday, September 12, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
