Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Kaplan Baptist Church honoring the life of Jasper LaFleur, 84, who died Sunday, September 11, 2011 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at the Nunez Baptist Cemetery with Reverend Noah Langley and Dr. Jeffery Cook officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Ronnie Daigle, Jason Gaspard, Theonise Vincent Jr., Jacque Richard, Martin Richard and Mike Perrin. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Payton Gaspard, Andre' Gaspard and Mason Fowler.
He is survived by two sons, Roger Dale LaFleur and his wife, Julie of Monticello, Arkansas, Baines "Benny" Richard and his wife, Toni of Kaplan; one daughter, Laura Jane Smith of Kaplan; eight grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy "Pat" LaFleur; parents, Lee LaFleur and the former Nettie Laura Trahan; and one sister, Roberta and her husband, Frances Hebert.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a prayer service to be held at 7 p.m.; Wednesday, September 14, from 8 a.m. until the procession departs for the church at 12:45 p.m.
