Ridley Joseph Gayneaux, Sr.

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 19, 2011 at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Ridley Joseph Gayneaux Sr., 69, who died Friday, September 16, 2011 at his residence with family by his side.

He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ridley Joe Gayneaux, Jr., Zeek J. Gayneaux, Peter (Dawg) LeBlanc, Jacobi L. Balch, Tony J. Trahan and Darin J. DeMarcay. Honorary pallbearers will be Chancey J. Sagrera, Kalab S. Sagrera, Danny W. Balch, Anthony (Leroy) LeBlanc, Brock Stelly, Jr. Tristan J. LeBlanc, Landon T. LeBlanc, Layton M. Breaux and Seth M. Howard.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years Barbara D. Gayneaux; son, Ridley "Joe" Gayneaux Jr. and wife Kat of Henry; three daughters, Tammy Balch and husband Danny of Abbeville, Sue Trahan and husband Tony of Forked Island, Donielle Shinne LeBlanc and husband Peter of Abbeville; brother, Daniel Paul Gayneaux of Abbeville; thirteen gandchildren; four step gandchildren; six great grandchildren; and three step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Julian J. Gayneaux; mother, Amy O. Gayneaux; grandson in law, Brock (BJ) Stelly Sr.; brother in law, Leroy DeMarcay; and great granddaughter, Genisis.

He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was an avid musician from the age of six until his passing. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The family of Mr. Gayneaux would like to give special thanks to Dr. Douglas Sagrera and staff for the kindness and patience that they showed him and his family through his illness. Also thanks to Erin with AAA Home Health Care and Johanna with Hospice.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Sunday, September 18, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. and Monday, from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
