Velta Frederick Bourgeois

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Velta Frederick Bourgeois, 91, who died Sunday, September 18, 2011 at East Jefferson General Hospital.

She will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Reverend William C. Blanda officiating the services.

She is survived by her three sons, James A. Bourgeois of Houma, Paul J. Bourgeois of Richmond, TX amd Frederick M. Bourgeois of Bedford, New Hampshire; daughter, Ann Bourgeois Pendergrass of New Orleans; step son, Curtis H. Bourgeois, Jr. of Rocheport, MO; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence C. Bourgeois, Sr; second husband, Curtis H. Bourgeois; son, L.C. Pete Bourgeois, Jr.; and sister, Helen Ledet.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Wednesday, September 21, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
