Abbeville—Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 24, 2011 at a 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Reynold Dan Broussard, 65, who died Monday, September 19, 2011 at his residence.
He will be laid to rest at Leroy Cemetery with Reverend William C. Blanda officiating the services.
Mr. Broussard served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Europe during the Vietnam era. He obtained a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering and had a 40 year career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in New Orleans serving as Supervisory Hydraulic Engineer in the Hydraulic Design Section. His career also included Adjunct Professor of Civil Engineering (Hydraulics) at Tulane University and The University of New Orleans.
A professional poker player, Reynold traveled the country and abroad and played in many poker tournaments. Family and friends will always remember Reynold’s generosity, his humorous outlook on life, and his quirky personality.
He is survived by his father, Joseph Dudley "Bruce" Broussard; brother, Joseph Edward "Eddie" Broussard; sisters, Rose Anna Trahan and husband Mike, and Mary E. Broussard; sister in law, Lisa Ledet Broussard; two nieces, Amanda Trahan Vienne and husband Benji, and Clare Broussard; two great nieces, Parrish and Ellis Vienne all of Abbeville.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sable Landry Broussard; and brother, Neal Broussard.
