Rita Sigur Frederick

August 17, 1921 — September 21, 2011

ABBEVILLE —Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2011 at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Rita Sigur Frederick, 90, who died Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Eastridge Nursing Center.

Rita was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Retired school teacher having taught 3rd grade at East Abbeville Elementary and Eaton Park Elementary.

She is survived by her son, Lloyd "Jay" Frederick, Jr. and wife Diane of Abbeville; grandchildren, Brian Frederick and wife Jennifer of Lafayette and Erin Segura and husband Christopher of Lafayette; and four great grandchildren, Jordan, Connor, Olivia and Sara Kate.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd J. Frederick, Sr.; parents, Rene Sigur and the former Armose "Beam" LaPorte; brothers, Fred Sigur and Rene "Junior" Sigur, Jr.; and sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Sigur Gajan and Mrs. Clara Sigur Smith.
