Alva Jane "Skinny" Suire

March 16, 1935 — September 23, 2011

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne Catholic Church honoring the life of Alva Jane Trahan Suire, 76, who died Friday, September 23, 2011 at her home in Forked Island. She will be laid to rest at Suire Cemetery with Reverend Keith Landry officiating the services.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Dewey Suire of Forked Island; one son, James Suire of Anchorage, Alaska; three daughters, Mable Constantine (A.J.) of Forked Island, Samantha Palmatier (Mark) of Anchorage, Alaska, and Bertha Faye Harrington (Davis) of Forked Island; three sisters, Learna Richard and Hazel Marie Trahan, both of Kaplan, and Ella Mae Touchet of Forked Island; one brother, Ray Allen Trahan of Kaplan; ten grandchildren, Amanda Constantine, Kevin Constantine, Tanya Fontenot, Jerrid Palmatier, Kristofer Palmatier, Jason Suire, Michael Jay Harrington, Francesca Harrington, Nicholas Dale Suire, and Shanna Tran; and ten great grandchildren, Aysia Marceaux, Valarie, Andrew, and Kodi Constantine, Laney Bourque, Jason Suire Jr., Mia and Aliyah Harrington, and Kayleigh and Aiden Suire.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Dale Suire; her parents, Arthur Trahan and Odia Fontenot; two sisters, Winnie Domingue and Gelta Frith; and one brother, Galis Trahan.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Sunday, September 25, 2011 from 11 a.m. until Monday, September 26, 2011 at 10 p.m. A rosary will be prayed Sunday evening at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue Tuesday, September 27, 2011 from 8 a.m. until the procession departs for the church.
