Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 23, 2011 at a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne Catholic Church honoring the life of Brent James Hollier, 43, who died after a courageous battle with cancer, Friday, October 21, 2011 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Keith Landry officiating the services.
Brent's sense of humor, loving spirit, undeniable faith, and generous love of family and friends has been an inspiration to all.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Lisa Hebert Hollier of Forked Island; two children, Matthew Joseph and Lanie Paige Hollier (Private Hollier); his father, Walton Hollier Jr. and his wife, Beverly Ann of Cow Island; his mother, Bonnie Marie Stelly of Forked Island; three brothers, Chris Joseph Hollier of Cow Island, Brian Keith Hollier of Cow Island, and Dwayne John Hollier of Lafayette; maternal grandmother, Hazel Stelly of Kaplan; and his mother-in-law, Betty Hebert of Cow Island.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Carnes "T.T." Stelly; paternal grandparents, Walton Sr. and Enice Hollier; and his father-in-law, Joseph Hebert Sr.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Saturday, October 22, 2011 from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 p.m.; Sunday, October 23, 2011 from 8 a.m. until the procession departs for the church.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice of Acadiana, and Dr. Panelli and her staff at the Cancer Center of Louisiana.
